Busy with life…

… in a good way!  I’d been on my own for 2 1/2 weeks while Lesa was back in Tennessee visiting her mom.  My illusions (delusions) of all the free time I’d have to read, relax, and blog were quickly squelched.  Gardening, laundry, ironing, cooking, cleaning up… who’s got free time?

Actually, I wasn’t completely on my own.  About five days after Lesa left, my youngest daughter arrived for a visit.  She was to be a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding, and then stayed for an extra two weeks so that she could enjoy a few days with Lesa after she returned on the 29th.  I didn’t see much of her for the first week or so, what with the wedding preparations and visiting friends, but we got in some really good father-daughter times together, too.  One such very special such time was dancing a waltz with her at a second wedding at our church last Sunday, a few hours before Lesa’s flight landed.  A very special memory… she waltzes well, too!

Tuesday Lesa took her to a local day spa for some “girl time”, getting all fussed over with the frou-frou beauty stuff they do at such places.  Afterwards, after I got off work, we all went out for a total 5-star dinner at the Crow’s Nest restaurant, on the 20th floor of the Hotel Captain Cook.  Heaven smiled on us- whereas the weather had been cold, overcast and gray up till then, Tuesday was cloudless, warm and sunny, so we enjoyed a perfect panoramic view of the mountains, city, and Cook Inlet.  Sublime!

And now she’s gone, and with Lesa back the workload burden’s are once again shared.  I am a very happy man.
