the way will be a lot easier for those left behind when you die. Believe me.
I’m still out in Virginia (almost D.C.) helping my aunt get through the legal and financial consequences of my father’s recent death. Folks, it doesn’t matter how old you are or how modest your worldly possesions are. None of us know for certain that we will live to see tomorrow, and even if you have nothing more than a checking account with a small balance, it will require such trouble for someone to take care of that you’d be embarrassed if you weren’t already dead.
You’ve probably heard this all before- but if you haven’t acted on it, you need to hear it again, and again, until you do act.
I have to admit and confess that I’m embarrased at not having gotten around to doing mine yet. That is moving up to the top of the list of things that must get done ASAP when I (may it please our gracious Lord) get home Wednesday.
Man, am I looking forward to that. Temperatures have started cooling off finally, but they had been up into the 50’s, and I’ve just been melting. Get me back to the land of ice and snow! Ha! Who’d have ever thought a So. Cal. boy like me would’ve ended up like this.
Peace.
