“Hall of Shame”: White House category

ElviraTHIS is the face of the Bush administration’s “get tough on illegals” program? Michelle Malkin trumpeted it as the sign of a turn in the right direction, but I couldn’t help staring at the photo in disbelief that Elvira Arellano is who they chose to make a highly publicized case out of.

Why aren’t we seeing photos of the deportation/imprisonment of Jose Carranza, accused of raping his girlfriend’s 5-yr-old daughter?

Or Ruben Hernandez-Juarez, charged with sexually molesting a 6-yr-old boy in Martin County, Florida?

Or Alejandro Bautista, convicted of molesting two teenage boys?

Or Alejandro Xuya-Sian, the hit-and-drag (almost a mile) driver in New York?

Or Alberto Barajas-Enriquez, charged with beating his neighbor to death with a golf club?

Or Lucio Sanchez-Martinez, charged with sexually molesting a sleeping 8-yr-old girl?

Or any of the heartbreakingly, maddeningly too common cases of violent felons with multi-count rap sheets, illegals all, released again and again to victimize additional innocents and shatter the lives of those who survive?

Instead, we’re treated to an almost textbook-perfect case of what the pro-amnesty paint as the future desired by their opponents; an attractive, weeping young mother torn away from her young son, maternal love crushed beneath the jackbooted heels of heartless federal agents.

So, why DID they do it this way? Would it be too cynical to imagine this is a case of Bush vindictive payback to conservatives for the painfully public repudiation of his Comprehensive Immigration “Reform” bill? (I know, I know… is it possible to be too cynical with these folks?).

Deport the criminals first … that is, the multi-repeating, violent felons, and eradicate the network of enablers. Get some cred.

  1. “Deport the criminals first”

Entering this country illegally (Arellano did this twice) is a crime. So is identity theft, which Arellano was a willing participant in when she worked under a false Social Security Number.

I do agree with your main point; however, that Arellano will certainly be used by amnesty-mongers to attempt to further their cause. At this point, there is little they can do. Public backlash with regard to the rapes and murders committed by illegals has effectively quashed any public sympathy for their cause.

    For the time being anyway.
